About Stand for Animals

Stand for Animals was founded in 2011 as Spay Neuter Charlotte to address the euthanasia rates in local shelters. Since 2011 122,000 dogs and cats have been fixed, reducing the death in local shelters by 50%. SFA evolved to provide affordable veterinary care in 2017 in response to the needs of clients who could not afford private veterinary care. A Medical Assistance Fund was created in 2019 which underwrites the cost of treatment for clients who have limited resources. We also offer non-interest bearing payment plans if needed.
