Rabies

The state of North Carolina requires every cat and dog over 16 weeks of age to be vaccinated against the rabies virus. The vaccine is an immunization to prevent rabies in cats and dogs.

If you have a puppy or kitten your pet must be at least 16 weeks of age in order to receive the vaccine. Their first rabies vaccination will last for one year. After that, your pet can receive three-year vaccinations.

Vaccine Reactions

A small percentage of dogs and cats (like humans) can have an allergic reaction to vaccines. At the time of your appointment, you will be reminded about the signs that you need to watch for in case of a reaction.
