Microchips

Losing your pet—either because they accidentally got out or slipped their leash—is one of the worst things that can happen to a pet guardian. But if your pet has a microchip, you can worry less. Microchips allow your pet to be identified with a scanner. This allows you to be reunited with your pet even if your pet loses its collar when they get out.

A microchip is about the size of a grain of rice and is inserted between a pet’s shoulder blades behind their neck. The insertion is quick and not painful.

Stand For Animals uses Home Again microchips. Once the microchip is inserted, you will be given the tag and number of the microchip we implanted. You'll complete a registration form and the chip will be registered with Home Again. Home Again will send you a confirmation email that they have received your information within 48 hours of implantation. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder or contact Stand For Animals or Home Again directly so we can make sure your pet is entered in the national database.
