Last May a transport organized by Project Safe Pet (from York County) brought up a puppy named Loki that had already been fixed. Turns out that when the transporters went to pick up the pup’s mom, “Moo Moo" Loki ran behind the vehicle out of the neighborhood and onto a busy intersection. Twice they returned him to his house and twice he jumped the fence to run after the truck. Clearly he didn’t want to be separated from his mom. The transporters, worried that he might get hurt finally loaded him in and brought him to clinic so he could spend the night with his mom after her surgery. Now that is love.
Unfortunately the story doesn’t have a happy ending. It breaks my heart to report that we heard on Tuesday that Moo Moo had been killed. They don’t know if she was hit by a car or poisoned. Doesn’t matter, Loki is inconsolable. We hear that he is wandering the streets in the neighborhood looking for her. We are worried that it’s only a matter of time before something terrible happens to him as well and his current owners don’t really care.
We are on a quest to find Loki a new home. Please let me know if you or anyone you know is interested in a lovely hound dog. He deserves to find the love his lost when his mom died. Call me at the clinic 704 375 2009, ext. 102.
