Fecal
A fecal test, known officially as a Fecal Float, is a routine test used to diagnose intestinal parasites or “worms”. The test detects eggs of mature parasites that live inside your pet’s body and pass their eggs to the outside by shedding them into your pet’s poop.
The ideal sample is one that is less than 24 hours old and should be free as possible from gravel, kitty litter, etc. Any clean container will work to collect and store the sample until the doctor evaluates it.
Fecals are recommended for pets that are experiencing gastrointestinal distress, such as diarrhea, or pets that you suspect may have worms.
