Dental
Please note, a consult appointment and pre-op bloodwork are required prior to scheduling a dental procedure. The procedure will be scheduled by a SFA team member following the consult appointment.
A dental cleaning is a procedure your dog or cat undergoes to clean or remove teeth.
Dental disease can be treated early before causing gingivitis, gingival recession, and eventual tooth root infections that cause your animal a tremendous amount of pain and can lead to other health issues.
While there are home remedies you can use to prevent tartar buildup and dental disease, the only 100% way to keep your pet’s teeth healthy and clean, is by having regular dentals. Some animals need dentals more frequently than others, but your veterinarian will be able to create a plan that works best for you and your pet.

-
What’s a sign that my pet might need a dental?
Bad breath isn’t always because your pet needs a dental, but if you notice your pet consistently having bad breath, getting their teeth checked out by a veterinarian during your annual visit or a dental-specific office visit, is recommended.

Can I book a dental using your online scheduler?
No, dentals may only be booked in-office after you meet with the doctor for an office visit where your pet’s teeth are evaluated.
-
Does it cost extra to have teeth removed?
Yes, a quote will be given to you at the time of your dental consult with the veterinarian.
